Wow...Long Time, No Write

I am so busy writing other things that I have neglected this blog. And truthfully, I have struggled recently with JOY. The reasons are always complicated, but I have started back on the website: http://occcounseling.org and will try to keep up with JOY STRENGTH too.

I think I turned a corner this weekend by taking much of two days and really taking care of myself...food-wise, exercise, water-drinking, sleeping, reading, writing, and caring for my disabled husband. I made conscious decisions NOT to do some things like take a 1-day quick trip to Seattle.

A couple books I'm reading have been very helpful: a 2000 publication by Leonard Sweet (someday I will own all of his books), called Soul Salsa. His writing is so refreshing to me. There is something new on every page.

The other is Why You Do the Things You Do, by Tim Clinton and Gary Sibcy. My relational style is a combination of every one except secure!! Does that tell you anything?

I'm also ready the autobiography of a lady new to our church, Betsy Tan, called If I Ride the Morning Winds. She is from Indonesia, and her story is gripping.

I have much for which to be thankful. I am especially thankful for my daughter, son-in-law, three grandsons, my son, daughter-in-law and a grandson and granddaughter. They make me smile even though we live far away from each other.

Would love to hear from any of you who read this blog...hope your JOY STRENGTH can get jump-started this week!
